3. Claim your Blog at Technorati.
Open an account at Technorati and claim your blog there. Tehcnorati is a must use for every serious blogger.
4. Be active in Forums and use a Forum Signature including a link to your Blog.
Don’t try to spam forums just to get a link to your blog. You need to contribute great content and help others in the forum, then they will regard you as an expert and visit your Blog more likely.
5. Cross Link with other Blog Owners.
Your blog has a Blogroll. So you can exchange links with other bloggers in your niche on your blogroll.
6. Bookmark your Blog Post.
Go to SocialPoster and bookmark your best blog posts.
7. Distribute articles including the “About the Author” part with a link to your Blog.
You can use the ISnare article distribution service to get your article listed in hundreds of article directories. They also submit your article to many newsletter publishers. This strategy alone can create a huge viral constant flow of traffic to your blog.
8. Post useful Comments on other blogs.
Don’t leave short comments like “hey I like your post”… rather write long comments and start a discussion… Blogs are made for people to interact.9. Use Ping Services
Wordpress automatically pings when you make a new post but you can improve this automated Ping service by using the MBP-Ping-Optimzer and an improved list of ping services.
10. Create an account at MyBlogLog and use their widget on your blog.
MyBlogLog is a social community. You can get a constant flow of traffic through them by making friends with other bloggers and building your community.
11. TrackBack other Blogs.
Link to other Blogs in your posts and send them a trackback. Before you do so make sure that their blog accepts trackbacks. Sometimes you can do a PingBack instead of a TrackBack.
12. Notify your opt-in list subscribers about your latest blog posts.
Of course you should have an opt-in list on your blog to catch the name and email address from your readers. Make sure you send them a message when you have new content on your blog. The best visitors are returning visitors!
13. Have a Signature with a link to your Blog in every email you send out with any email program.
That’s something many people don’t do… they miss out on a lot of traffic. Even if you answer just a support question or communicate with your friends, always have your Blog URL at the end of the emails (better would be your contact information plus all your main blogs and website urls)
14. Create and distribute viral ebooks that include a link to your Blog.
You can write 20 pages short reports or ebooks and make them viral by letting other people give it away for free. Include your blog url throughout these viral reports and you’ll soon get tons of viral traffic.
15. Build a Squidoo Lense and put a link to your Blog on that.
Squidoo pages are great to get 1-way links to your blog. Google loves Squidoo Pages and often you are ranked within the Top 10 for long-tail keywords. That means you’ll get direct traffic to your Squidoo lense and a part of that traffic will follow the links to your Blog.
16. Build a Hub Page and put a link to your Blog on that.
Same here as the Squidoo Lenses.
17. Create and distribute a video, include a link to your Blog in this video.
People love to watch videos and they love to share videos. If you are good, then your video might go viral and you’ll get lots of visitors to your blog. You should have a short URL that people can remember and type into their browser bar.
18. Create an account at social pages like Myspace or Facebook - put a link to your Blog into your Profile.I guess you know what social marketing is… send some of that traffic to your Blog to build up a loyal readership.19. Signup for EntreCard and add their widget to your Blog.
Entrecard can be a huge source of traffic but you need to invest about 10 minutes each day to be active and drop some cards.
20. Register your Blog at BlogCatalog and put their widget on your Blog.
Your blog simply must be in the Blog Catalog. You can get a nice flow of traffic from them after a while.
21. Signup for BlogRush and put their widget on your Blog.Blogrush is a no-brainer… I just wonder why there are not more services out there like this.
22. Submit a XML sitemap of your Blog to Google Webmasters
You don’t need to do that, but if you know that some of your pages are not spidered yet, then this will get them indexed pretty soon.
23. Provide good content on your Blog.
Yes, good quality contents please!
24. Be the first one who publishes a newsworthy story.
O.K., it’s hard to be the very first one who publishes a big story. But there are smaller newsworthy stories, maybe even local stories depending on your niche.25. Publish content on a regular basis.
Come on, one post per week is not much. Better would be to post on a daily basis if you can do it.26. Install the most important WordPress Plugins.
List of Plug Ins
27. Invite known experts in your niche to be Guest Writers for your Blog.
Start with “small” experts and then move up to the bigger ones. Many bloggers would love to get some extra exposure on your blog once you have some visitors.28. Be a Guest Writer on other Blogs.
If you have good content, then this is the best way to introduce yourself to your niche. Let people know you exist by being a guest writer on other people’s blog.29. Include links to useful resources in your blog posts.
I’ve just recently started to do this. I was always greedy on giving away free links, but you’ll see that it’s well worth it. Especially if you link to smaller blogs, then the owner will notice that and many will do a favor back.30. Publish your contact information on your Blog and your Picture.
Go public, don’t hide! People love to know who you are and what you do. A picture helps people to remember you it’s called First Impression!31. Create an interactive Blog
Make sure people can comment on your blog, make sure they can subscribe to your RSS Feed, make sure they can leave trackbacks etc.32. Write about something that is currently a Hot Topic in your niche.
You can use Google Alerts or other news sources to find the Hot Topics in your niche. Then enter the discussion with some controversial facts.
33. Research keywords and use long-tail keywords in the title and the first sentence of your posts.Don’t try to rank in Google for the term “internet marketing” rather try to rank for “internet marketing explained for newbies” or some other long-tail keywords. Use Wordtracker to find keywords that have less than 100.000 competitors. Then use the keyword in your title and in the first sentence of your post.
34. Customize your Blog with a unique Header and Footer Image. Don’t use the Standard Layouts. Here is a simple example look at the header image of this blog. Will you remember it? Of course you will, at least better than most other headers it’s unique and you don’t see a header like this anywhere that’s again Branding!
35. Categorize your Blog correctly, make it easy for your readers to find the content they are looking for.A well classified blog looks professional and helps people to find what they are looking for.
36. Use Credit Based SafelistsI know some people will laugh about using safelists. But I’ve my tracking in place and I know the numbers. Credit based safelist work, don’t let anybody tell you different!
37. Answer all questions that your readers send by email or leave as a comment.Have a question? Post a comment and I’ll be happy to answer it. Don’t you like that?
38. Answer questions at Yahoo AnswersYahoo Answers is a great place to establish yourself as an expert in your niche. That will have a branding effect.
39. Install a Bookmarking Widget below each post so that your readers can easily bookmark your post.40. Create a Link BaitWhat’s a link bait? Well, it’s what I’m doing or trying to do right here. I’ve invested about 3 hours into writing this post, I’ve done research, I’ve done the work. People appreciate that and naturally link to posts like this one. That’s called a Link Bait. Your content must be so good that people just want to tell others about it.
I hope you will be benefited from the above opinions.

Blog Directory List, for serious bloggers...

Blog Directory List, for serious bloggers...

1. Best of the Web Blog Search La Crem de la Crem, Best of the Web’s Blog Directory is very selective and only lists aged and valuable blogs. A link from here is majestic and well deserved.
2. EatonWeb Blog Directory is a real jewel with many aged inbound links and a blog rating system. You may have to pay a fee for your blog to be reviewed, but like Yahoo, the review fee is well worth the few dollars.
3. Blog Hub offers a drop down category and member blog list. With its “new blogger” list and hot topics, Blog Hub is a great directory to list your site.
4. Upon visiting Bloggernity, you find a crisp, clean, and easy to navigate site. Scrolling down, you find the new blogs. As there is little advertising on the home page, it is pleasant to the eye of the reader as well.
5. Blogarama has an impressive listing of over 65,000 blogs. The site is well designed and follows the same content categories as many other sites.
6. One of the most selective Blog Directories on the web (and Wordpress powered), Blog Search Engine is owned by Performancing’s parent company and serves search results powered by IceRocket.
7. Blog Catalog features a vast directory of categories, from academic to writing, while offering the ability to search by country, language, or user. It has a no frills design, but offers convenient member access through simple blog registration.
8. Globe of Blogs has too many features to list. In order to be listed on the site, the blog must not be commercial. The site may appear to be busy, but I like the features of being able to search by title, author, or subject. Narrowing the search becomes easier on this blog.
9. The ultimate directory of British blogs connotes all things British. It is not directed by location, but by the culture! It is asked that bloggers be genuinely “britished.” Being listed in this blog reaches readers all the way across the pond!
10. Blog Universe is the perfect place to promote your video or podcast themed blog. Its layout is easy to navigate. Although the content is limited, it is an all around good directory site worthy of submission.
11. Bigger Blogs is a relatively new blog directory with only a few blogs registered. The blog is intertwined with a business directory. The blog section is difficult to find, and it is located through a link on the right side of the business directory page. However, the benefit is that the earlier you are accepted on a blog directory, the more exposure your blog will obtain. In addition, a back link is indeed a back link, so this can help with your search engine placement.
12. Bloggeries has the best categories and subcategories home page on the internet. The layout is clear and concise, and readers are able to find what they are looking for in a snap!
13. Bloggapedia has an interesting and eye catching homepage. Readers are easily connected to the top blogs and newest posts. Innovative categories and a colorful design make this blog directory a hit.
14. Spillbean is a well-designed blog directory site with categories such as health, society, internet, and personal. The site is aesthetically pleasing, but there are not many listings yet.
15. Blogging Fusion is a blog with over sixty categories. These categories include photo blogs and family focused blogs. Blogging Fusion has an good amount of blog listings within the directory, and it also has visitor stats available.
16. Blogflux is not only a tool for bloggers, but a directory that has the listings in alphabetic order. The blog listings are organized and clear. It is definitely an effective blog directory in which to be listed.
17. The blogs on the top listings of Bloglisting are fun, colourful, and catch the attention of the reader. Bloglisting displays the page ranking blogs, which is a helpful tool when determining with whom you want to exchange links.
18. Blogio may be a small blog directory with few listings, but it worthy of a submission. Despite its small size, there are quality blogs and a solid ability to search on this site.
19. Blog Explosion claims to be the largest blog promoter on the internet. They have a vast directory but do not seem to have direct links. However, the listing in the directory can still show up in SERP’s, so keep this in mind.
20. Super Blog Directory is a great site that offers tools to posters that others do not. You can see the latest submitted links and blogs on the site, which is a perk that draws traffic into the directory.

Affordable internet business opportunity: Google Adsense Profits With Wordpress

Affordable internet business opportunity: Google Adsense Profits With Wordpress

If you are looking for an affordable internet business opportunity and you need cash, affiliate marketing with blog is a great option for you. With affiliate marketing, you may get a lot of cash pouring into your bank account easily. And if your blog is rich in great contents and you want to earn more profit, why not get into the Google Adsense program and blogging with Wordpress as well?

Why Affiliate Marketing using blog?

Well, simply because affiliate marketing is the most affordable internet business opportunity and probably the best way to earn profits online, unless otherwise you are a businessman and would rather sell your own products online than advertise other businessman’s products on your blog. Affiliate marketing, simply said, is a relationship or agreement made between two websites, with one site being the merchant’s website and the other being the affiliate’s site or blog. In the relationship, the affiliate agrees to let the merchant advertise his products on the affiliate’s site. The merchant, on the other hand, would agree to pay the affiliate in whatever method they have agreed into. This would generally mean easy income for the affiliate, as he would do nothing but place the retailer’s ad on his site. This would also be very beneficial for the merchant, as getting affiliates to advertise their products would be a lot more affordable than hiring an advertising firm to promote their products.

Getting much profit on affiliate marketing programs, however, does not depend so much on the compensation method is it does on the traffic generated by your site. A website or blog that can attract more visitors would generally have the greater chance of profiting in affiliate marketing programs.

What about Google Adsense?

Google Adsense is actually some sort of an affiliate marketing program. In Google Adsense, Google act as the intermediary between the affiliates and the merchants. The merchant, or the advertiser, would simply sign up with Google and provide the latter with text ads pertaining to their products. These ads, which is actually a link to the advertiser’s website, would then appear on Google searches as well as on the websites owned by the affiliates, or by those webmasters who have signed up with the Google Adsense program.

The Google Adsense program compensates the affiliate in a pay-per-click basis. The advertisers would pay Google a certain amount each time their ad on your site is clicked and Google would then forward this amount to you through checks, although only after Google have deducted their share of the amount. Google Adsense checks are usually delivered monthly. Also, the Google Adsense program provides webmasters with a tracking tool that allows you to monitor the earnings you actually get from a certain ad.

So, where do all of these lead us to?

Where else but to an affordable internet business opportunity and profits, profits and even more profits! Affiliate marketing programs using the Google Adsense program and wordpress blog simply work, whether you are the merchant or the affiliate. For the merchant’s side, a lot of money can be saved if advertising effort is concentrated on affiliate marketing rather than on dealing with advertising firms. For the webmaster, you can easily gain a lot of profits just by doing what you do best, and that is by creating blogs. And if you combine all your profits from both the Google Adsense program and other affiliate marketing programs, it would surely convert to a large amount of cash.
